The player acts as imprisoned character that witnesses the assassination of the king and seeks for his unknown son to stop the destruction of the world. The game includes a revamped graphics engine and brand new physical interactions. The game got very positive critical reception and became the most successful game in The Elder Scrolls franchise to date. The game sold more than 3 million copies just in months. A major expansion pack for the game released in 2007.
