Contrary to its huge popularity in North America, American Express lags behind the market share of Visa and MasterCard at the rest of the world. It is one of the two major credit card systems which are widely used through the world. Visa offers three different types of cards which are: credit cards, debit cards and pre-paid cards. Visa operates in all continents except Antarctica and they were proud to promote this fact on their advertisement campaigns before. Visa has been known as its signature "Dove" hologram logo which previously took its place on every visa credit card produced. Recently the dove hologram has been put at the back of each visa credit card.

MasterCard is United States based credit card Corporation and it is one of the biggest players in the market. The company is specialized on credit card transactions between merchants and banks. MasterCard holds the biggest market share at credit card business in the whole world, except North America. MasterCard can be considered the credit card brand with most exposure on consumer side. Their famous "priceless" advertisements became one of the most iconic campaigns created for a brand. MasterCard also has been sponsor for World Cup to promote their brand to the masses better. MasterCard also sponsored big commercial sports tournaments like UEFA Champions League and Canadian National Hockey League.
